Bow hunting lottery to be held Sept. 16
Riverhead Town will hold a bow hunting lottery on Monday, Sept. 16, at 7 p.m. in the Town Board meeting room, according to Councilman George Gabrielsen.
Bow hunting of deer will be allowed at the Enterprise Park at Calverton and on 32 acres of town-owned land at 1751 Sound Ave. in Calverton.
Bow hunting season will run from Oct. 7 through Dec. 1, Mr. Gabrielsen said.
The lottery is limited to people who live or own property in Riverhead Town and applicants must show up at the Sept. 16 lottery in order to participate, he said. The town will not allow people to pick up hunting slots for others who are not present at the lottery, he said.
