East End Eye Associates eyeing new location

East End Eye Associates is gearing up to move into a new building — with three times more space than at its current offices.

The ophthalmology practice is in the midst of constructing a 7,400-square-foot brick building at 937 East Main Street, across from SAP Enterprises. Next week, the walls will go up, said practice administrator Gareth Swift.

“I think we’ll be in it by the end of the year, for sure,” Ms. Swift said.

Since 1989, East End Eye Associates has occupied about 2,400 square feet at its current location at 1333 East Main Street. Prior to that the practice, founded in 1984 by Dr. Lewis Roberts, was located on Roanoke Avenue, near Peconic Bay Medical Center.

East End Eye Associates also has offices in Port Jefferson, Ridge, Smithtown and Southold.
