Cops: Former Walmart employee arrested for theft
A former Walmart employee was arrested on a warrant last Tuesday after stealing from the Riverhead store several months earlier, Riverhead Town police said.
Lashone Artis, 41, of Westhampton removed $2,310 cash from a register sometime between Feb. 2. and Feb. 15., according to a report.
Ms. Artis was arrested and charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, a class E felony, at police headquarters, police said.
She was released on $1,000 bail, and is due back in court Oct. 22., officials said.
