Cops: Nearly $6,000 worth of jewelry stolen
Nearly $6,000 worth of jewelry and coins were stolen from a Marcy Avenue home on Wednesday, Riverhead Town police said.
The Marcy Avenue resident said someone had broken into the locked home through a front window sometime between 7:45 a.m. and 5:10 p.m., according to a report.
A number of gold earrings, necklaces, bracelets and a diamond ring were stolen from one resident’s dresser, while watches and silver dollars were stolen from another’s, police said.
The items are valued at $5,955, according to a report.
Detectives are investigating.
