Four hospitalized after crash on Route 25 in Aquebogue

CYNDI MURRAY PHOTO | A multi-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon sent four people to the hospital. A Subaru Outback flipped over in the accident.

Four people were sent to the hospital following a multi-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon in Aquebogue, Riverhead Town police said.

Police responded to reports of a rollover accident about 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of Route 25 and Shade Tree Lane, police said.

Officers found a Braun’s Seafood truck heading eastbound on Route 25 struck three other vehicles, police said. The truck first hit a Pontiac sedan before striking a Subaru Outback and finally a Ford Explorer, police said.

The accident caused the Subaru to flip, according to police.

Four people were taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center with minor injuries, police said.

The incident briefly shut down a portion of the Route 25 while police investigated the scene.

The accident is under investigation, police said.

This is the second time within the last two months a Braun’s Seafood truck driver has been involved in an accident. In August, a delivery truck driver from Southold was arrested on drunken driving and leaving the scene of an accident charges after a two-car crash in Riverhead.
