Emmet P. Kelly of Riverhead died Oct. 15 at his home. He was 82 years old.
He was born July 30, 1931, in Brooklyn to Michael and Nellie (Feely) Kelly and was a lifetime member of the Fire Department of New York. He also served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
Mr. Kelly was predeceased by his son, Thomas, an FDNY fireman who died in the September 11, 2001 terror attacks. He is survived by his wife, Marie (Suzanne) (née Gram); his sons Jim and Robert; his daughter, Jean Marie Farrell; his sister, Maureen; and seven grandchildren. s
The family received visitors Oct. 17 and 18 at Reginald H. Tuthill Funeral Home in Riverhead. A funeral service was held Oct. 19 at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church in Riverhead, Father Larry Duncklee officiating. Interment followed at the church cemetery.
