Irene Lidia Parrish-Robinson

Longtime Riverhead resident Irene Lidia Parrish-Robinson died Oct. 10. She was 94 years old.

She was born in Riverhead June 14, 1919, to Jeff and Julia (James) Parrish. She attended Riverhead schools and moved to Norwich, Conn., for a short time. After returning to Riverhead, she worked for Rowe Industries in Sag Harbor until the 1970s and was later employed by the Riverhead Nutrition Center, from which she retired at the age of 90.

She married Walter G. Robinson Aug. 5, 1942, and, according to family members, was always giving her time to help family, friends, neighborhood children and her community.

Predeceased by her husband, Ms. Parrish-Robinson is survived by her brothers, Jeff Parrish of Riverhead and Luther Parrish of Norwich, Conn.; her sisters Mary Delgado, also of Norwich, and Ruth Woodson of Pemberton, N.J.; and many other relatives. She was also predeceased by her sisters, Edna Randall, Dollie Dunston, Elizabeth and Alice Parrish and Arline Jackson.

The family received visitors Oct. 16 at Galilee Church of God in Christ in Riverhead, where a service was conducted by Pastor Roy L. Pennon Sr. Interment followed at Riverhead Cemetery.

Arrangements were handled by Seay Memorial Chapel, Riverhead.
