Kenneth J. Chituk

Former Cutchogue resident Kenneth J. Chituk died suddenly at his home in Daytona Beach, Fla., Oct. 22, 2013. He was 48 years old.

He was born in Greenport Jan. 25, 1965, to Jon R. and Henrietta (Polak) Chituk and was raised in Cutchogue. After graduation from Mattituck High School, he attended Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Fla.

Kenny remained in Florida for the past 30 years, working for various flight schools as a CAA/JAA flight examiner and FAA flight instructor.

He is survived by his wife, Dawn, of Daytona Beach; his mother, Henrietta Chituk of Cutchogue; his sisters, Renee Chituk-Katzen (David) and Michele Chituk; a niece and goddaughter, Camille Katzen, and a nephew, Jon Wyatt Katzen; a large extended family on the North Fork; and his wife’s family in Northport. He was predeceased by his father in 1996.

The family received friends and family Oct. 27 at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck. The Liturgy of Christian Burial was celebrated Oct. 28 at Our Lady of Ostrabrama R.C. Church in Cutchogue, Father Stan Wadowski officiating. Interment was at Sacred Heart R.C. Cemetery, also in Cutchogue.
