Joan T. Miller

Joan T. Miller of Riverhead died Nov. 19 at Peconic Bay Medical Center. She was 82.

She was born Sept. 2, 1931, in Greenport to Leroy Winfield and Elizabeth (Halsey) Tuthill and was a homemaker.

Predeceased by her son Marlin in 2011 and her brother Leroy Tuthill, Ms. Miller is survived by her husband, Richard (Dick); her sons Richard, of Riverhead, and Glenn, of Boston; her daughter, Denise, of Riverhead; her brothers Reggie Tuthill of Orient, Halsey Tuthill of New York and David Tuthill of Florida; her sisters, Carol Taplin of Southold, Sossy Horton of Orient, Lucille Koutnik of Texas and Elizabeth Gatti of New York; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The family received visitors Nov. 24 at Reginald H. Tuthill Funeral Home in Riverhead. A funeral service took place Nov. 25 at Riverhead United Methodist Church, officiated by the Rev. Dr. Enrique Lebròn. Interment took place at First Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Southold.
