Warning: don’t be fooled by the name ‘Bean N’ Bagel Café.’

Though the eatery on Route 25 in Calverton currently offers a variety of foods well beyond those in the restaurant’s title, the Bean N’ Bagel will soon be offering even more: specifically, pizza.

The popular Route 25 business will start serving a full lineup of handmade pizza beginning Feb. 24, co-owner Joanne Leibold said Wednesday, and will also extend its hours to accommodate customers.

“We close the store at 3 o’clock now and there’s still a lot of life left at that time of day,” she said of the store’s decision to start serving pizza. “People are still trying to get in the store at 3 o’clock. We wanted to do something else.”

Ms. Leibold said all pizza will be made on-site by her husband, John, and will include specialty pies like chicken marsala, taco and buffalo chicken. Calzones and heroes will also be available, she said, and a breakfast pizza with scrambled eggs, meat and cheese is in the works.

In celebration of March Madness, Ms. Leibold said, customers will be able to pick up a large cheese pie and two-liter bottle of soda for $8.

“We plan on offering something different every month,” she said.

Beginning Feb. 24, Bean and Bagel Café will stay open until 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and until 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Ms. Leibold said. The café will not serve pizza on Sunday and will be open from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“We’re going to preserve our family time Sundays,” she said.
