Two masked gunmen allegedly robbed a home on Maplewood Lane in Riverhead on Wednesday, according to Riverhead Town police.

The subjects approached two people at gunpoint in the driveway at around 3:30 p.m. and demanded the victims return inside the house, police said.

The suspects stole a bag containing cash from a bedroom closet and a bag of cash from a vehicle parked in the driveway, officials said.

A Riverhead police K-9 unit wasn’t able to locate the suspects after searching the area, police said.

Both victims were “uncooperative” with the police investigation and “indicated that they didn’t want to pursue the matter,” police said.

Police did receive a 911 call shortly before the incident, but the caller hung up “without every saying anything,” officials said. Police then used the department’s enhanced 911 system and found out the call came from Maplewood Lane, officials said.

One of the victims named by police was arrested Dec. 31 and charged with criminal possession of stolen property, a felony, after police found him operating a stolen vehicle, according to a state police report.
