National Weather Service issues dense fog advisory

The National Weather Service issued a dense fog advisory this afternoon, which will remain in effect until 5 p.m. Limited visibility is expected to linger through the afternoon and will gradually improve before tonight. 

Visibility is expected to be a low as a 1/4-mile in some areas, the NWS said while cautioning drivers to reduce speed and to use low-beam headlights.

Rain is expected later tonight, which will improve the visibility, as a cold front approaches the area from the west, the NWS said.

Weather is expected to clear up Saturday with sunny skies and a high temperature near 50 degrees.
