Frank Michalchuk

Frank Michalchuk of Riverhead died March 6 at Veterans Administration Hospital in Northport. He was 81. 

Mr. Michalchuk was born Oct. 28, 1932, in Brooklyn to Kalistrat and Christina Michalchuk. He served in the U.S. Marines from 1950 to 1951 and was a lithographer for Local 1.

He married Virginia (Milone) June 16, 1957, in Manhattan. Family members said he enjoyed history and watching movies.

Mr. Michalchuk is survived by his wife; his daughters  Christine Smith of Maine and Carol-Ann Cahill of St. James and two grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors Sunday, March 9, from 2 to 4 p.m. at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead. A funeral service will take place Monday, March 10, at 10 a.m. at St. Isidore R.C. Church in Riverhead. Interment will take place at Washington Memorial Park in Mount Sinai.
