Saśa Vann, a Bishop McGann-Mercy graduate who set multiple school records for the Monarchs, became a collegiate All-American Saturday as a member of the Buffalo State 4 x 400 relay team.

Competing at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships at the University of Nebraska’s Bob Devaney Sports Center, Vann’s relay team finished fifth. The quartet ran 3 minutes 50.48 seconds to earn All-America honors.

Vann, a sophomore, ran with Jazlyn Porter, Tara Murphy and Niasha Houpe, who’s also from Long Island (William Floyd).

The outdoor season for Buffalo State beings April 5.

Vann was a first-team All-State University of New York Athletic Conference runner this season. She finished fourth in the 200-meter dash at the SUNYAC Championships.
