John Andrew Sendlewski

Former Riverhead resident John Andrew Sendlewski passed away March 15, 2014, at his home in Weyers Cave, Va. He was 86. 

He was born Nov. 7, 1927, in Riverhead to Thomas and Mary Sendlewski.

John leaves a legacy of masonry all over Eastern Long Island. Residents saw his white stake truck daily at Lolly’s Hut or passing through the area. He retired and moved to Weyers Cave in 2005.

John is survived by his wife, Doris of Weyers Cave; his son John Lee (Ann) and grandsons Gene, Garrett (Becky) and Grant, all of Calverton; his daughter, Holly (Jonathan) Ritchie and grandchildren, Marshall and Cody Jack, all of Weyers Cave; his sister, Madelyn Zaweski of Jamesport and his sister-in-law, Lucy Sendlewski of Media, Pa. He was predeceased by his brother Frank; his sister-in-law, Florence; his niece Madelyn; his brother, Thomas and his brother-in-law, Anthony Zaweski.

Arrangements are being handled by Kyger Funeral Homes in Harrisonburg, Va.
