Charles I Bennett Sr.

Charles I. Bennett Sr. of Riverside and Riverhead died March 21 at Peconic Bay Medical Center. He was 61. 

He was born July 22, 1952, in Orange, N.J. to Harold and Lillie (Bland) Bennett. Mr. Bennett worked for Grumman as a stock keeper and also served in the U.S. Air Force Reserves.

Mr. Bennett is survived by his wife, Diane (née Trent) of Riverhead; his son, Charles I. Bennett Jr. of Baldwin; his daughter, Christal of North Carolina; his sister, Josephine Franklin of Virginia and two grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors Wednesday, March 26, from 7 to 9 p.m at Reginald H. Tuthill Funeral Home in Riverhead. A funeral service will take place Thursday, March 27, at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Riverhead, officiated by Pastor Charles Coverdale. Burial will follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Farmingdale.
