SWR business students earn top awards at DECA competition

Eight Shoreham-Wading River High School DECA students received top honors at a New York State competition in Rochester last month, where they put their business skills to the test.

The group competed against nearly 1,900 students in either role playing or exams and attended leadership conferences and award ceremonies hosted by the Distributive Education Club of America, commonly known as DECA. The national organization promotes business and marketing skills among high school students.

According to the district’s website, the following students earned medals at the competition: Erin Choinski, Jack Choinski, Brandon Green, Madison Hubner, Jade Joannou, Abigail Lutz, Molly Lutz, and Bobby Torres.
