Riverhead parents can soon prepay for kids’ school meals
Parents will soon be able to prepay cards for their kids’ school meals online — and keep tabs on what they’re eating — now that the school board has unanimously approved a new program called Harris School Systems EZSchoolPay.
Riverhead Assistant superintendent Sam Schneider described the innovation as the online-payment component of the district’s current lunch payment program. He explained that parents will be charged a $3 convenience fee per transaction to participate.
Officials said parents who prepay for school lunches will be able to monitor what their children purchase at school.
