liveblog

The Riverhead Town animal shelter may soon be on the move. The Riverhead Town Board is scheduled to vote on resolutions at its meeting Tuesday afternoon to set two hearings related to a proposed move for the shelter to the Henry Pfeifer Community Center building in Calverton.

Proponents of moving the animal shelter are expected to attend, as are members of the town’s recreation advisory committee, who oppose the idea.

Also on Tuesday’s agenda is a public hearing on a proposal to ban Town Board members, Ethics Board members, Zoning Board of Appeals members and Board of Assessment Review members from serving on the executive board of political parties.

The meeting starts at 2 p.m. and News-Review reporter Tim Gannon will be live blogging. Click below to follow or comment and see the full agenda and resolution packet below that.
