Dorothy M. Carey

Dorothy M. Carey of Jamesport died at her home May 2. She was 89.

She was born Sept. 26, 1924, in Bridgehampton to Marguerite (McGoey) and Robert Carey and worked for Riverhead School District as a teacher. 

She is survived by her nieces, Kathy Baldassarre of Patchogue, Pat Brown of Southampton, Linda Circo of Shirley, Nancy Lofaro of East Moriches and Marjorie Bennett of California; her nephews Joe and Jim Hurley of Southampton, Bill Hurley of Sag Harbor and Robert Bennett of Virginia and her brother, John Carey of Center Moriches.

The family will receive visitors Monday, May 12, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Reginald H. Tuthill Funeral Home in Riverhead. A funeral service will take place Tuesday, May 13, at 9:30 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church in Riverhead, officiated by Father Larry Duncklee. Interment will take place at the church cemetery.
