Meet your Riverhead school board candidates
GREGORY MEYER (Incumbent)
Mr. Meyer, who was elected in 2008 and currently serves as vice president of the board, said one of the biggest reasons he decided to seek re-election is to see districtwide capital projects come into fruition.
“Future maintenance and improvements of our facilities, relocation of our transportation facility and improving our playing fields needs to be next on the agenda,” he said. “Passion, teamwork, research and an open mind are the key ingredients to solve most challenges. That’s what I will continue to bring to the team.”
A Calverton resident, Mr. Meyer, 45, has three grown children who graduated from the district. The Wading River native works as a firefighter and EMT for Brookhaven National Laboratory. He also volunteers on the district’s audit committee and is a football coach for students in grades 7-12.
