Town Board discusses new home for town shelter

liveblog

The Riverhead Town Board will hold a public hearing this afternoon to discuss moving the nonprofit North Fork Animal Welfare League, which operates the town animal shelter, to a portion of the Henry Pfeifer Community Center, a town-owned building that underwent a nearly-half million-dollar renovation about a decade ago.

In a 3-2 vote in early May, the Town Board voted to schedule the hearing. The current animal shelter is on Youngs Avenue.

The meeting starts at 2 p.m. and News-Review reporter Tim Gannon will be live blogging. Click below for the live blog. Scroll below to see the meeting’s agenda.
