State Police arrested three people on drug charges last night after they said the driver of the vehicle was on drugs, and the two passengers had drugs on them.

Police said they received a call last night just after 11 p.m. that an erratic driver was in the area of Route 104, driving eastbound on Route 27. Police located the gray Pontiac driven by 32-year-old James Lennon of Flanders after they said he was not driving in his lane.

According to police, Mr. Lennon appeared to have bloodshot eyes while being interviewed, and later failed a field sobriety test. He was arrested on felony charges of DWI drugs, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, and criminal possession of a narcotic in the fourth degree. He was also arrested on a misdemeanor charge of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree.

In addition to Mr. Lennon, police said passengers Giselle Douglas, 30, of Flanders, and Riverhead resident Andre Coach, 38, both had drugs on them.

Both were charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, criminal possession of a narcotic drug in the fourth degree, and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree.
