Judy C. Young

Judy C. Young of Aquebogue died June 23 at her home. She was 75.  

She was born Dec. 5, 1938, in Greenport to Dorothy (Cooper) and Herbert Young. She attended Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Fla., where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree.

Ms. Young was a longtime volunteer for Peconic Bay Medical Center, serving over 15,000 hours. She was also involved in many beautification projects in Riverhead, including founding Riverhead Litter Patrol with Jesse Goodale, maintaining the traffic circles in Riverhead and Riverside, trimming the bushes at Suffolk County Historical Society and painting the fence for Aquebogue Cemetery. Her cousin Bruce Cooper said Ms. Young was a “wonderful person who gave a lot to her community.”

Ms. Young is survived by many cousins and friends.

The family will receive visitors Wednesday, June 25, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at Reginald H. Tuthill Funeral Home in Riverhead. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home Thursday, June 26 at 10 a.m., officiated by Pastor Jane Wright. Burial will take place at Aquebogue Cemetery.
