Darla Jeanne Kujawski

Darla Jeanne Kujawski, age 59, died peacefully July 9, 2014 at her home in Punta Gorda, Fla., after reoccurring cancer. She was a 40-year survivor of Hodgkin’s Lymphoma when she was diagnosed with Leiomyosarcoma in 2010.

Darla was born February 8, 1955, in Riverhead, the daughter of Harry Rambo Sr. and Alice Rambo. Darla graduated from Riverhead High School in 1973 and eventually moved to Punta Gorda with her family.

Darla enjoyed everything life had to offer. She married the love of her life, Charlie Kujawski in 1976. It was once overheard, that she would walk through fire for him, and he would do the same for her. They spent their early married years sailing on their sailboat with their two sons. She was a kind and generous mother, always supporting her sons in everything they did.

Darla’s passions were many. She loved crafts and sewing. She was her own seamstress and had a flair for fashion. She was an independent beauty consultant for Mary Kay and won the Miss Go-Give award for her dedication to helping others. She didn’t stop there. Darla had been a committee member and star supporter for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life for over 10 years. Her work with the American Women’s Business Association earned her the Women of the Year award in 2013. If someone had a need she was always there with support and helping hands.

Darla Kujawski was an amazing gift and loved by everyone she met. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by eight siblings; her husband Charlie Kujawski; sons, Charlie and Daniel;  many nieces and nephews; and her Rottweiler, Lia.

Darla’s ashes will be brought to their final resting place in St. Isidore’s Cemetery in
Riverhead.
