Michael Manesis of Riverhead died July 21 at Peconic Bay Medical Center. He was 90.
He was born in Andros, Greece to Anastasia and Andreas Manesis. Family members said he was a passionate business man who owned many restaurants between Manhattan and Hampton Bays. They also said that one of his greatest joys was spending time with family.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Christine (née Kourtesis); his children, Andrew, of Shoreham; Maria Vlahadamis of Hampton Bays, Georgia Tsikitas of Arizona and Anastasia of Whitestone; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and his sisters, Ellie Retselas of Freeport and Demetra Zakas of Greece.
The family received visitors July 23 at J. Ronald Scott Funeral Home in Hampton Bays. A mass was held July 24 at Greek Orthodox Church of the Hamptons in Southampton. Burial took place at Good Ground Cemetery in Hampton Bays.
