Carl E. Hiller

Carl E. Hiller of Calverton died Aug. 5 at Good Shepherd Hospice in Port Jefferson. He was 86. 

He was born June, 23, 1928, in Brooklyn to Elsa (Schempf) and Conrad Hiller.

Mr Hiller graduated from New York University and received a master’s degree from Hofstra University. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1946 to 1948 and worked as a financial analyst for Pfizer, Inc. Family members said he enjoyed playing golf.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred (née Ober); his daughter, Arlene (Doug) McGrath; his son, Robert (Lena); and six grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors Thursday, Aug. 7, from 2 to 5 p.m. at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead. A funeral service will take place Friday, Aug. 8, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church in Riverhead. Interment will take place at Calverton National Cemetery.
