A Riverhead man previously arrested for choking a woman during a fight in June is now facing felony grand larceny charges in connection with a car theft and another larceny on East Main Street last month, Riverhead Town police said.

Tarell Holloway, 27, was arrested on East Main Street Tuesday near his East Main Street home in connection with the two thefts, police said.

Police said Mr. Holloway stole a Nissan from SAP Enterprises in downtown Riverhead on Aug. 11, as well as cash and a cell phone from a parked vehicle near Luisa’s Scissors two days before. Riverhead police Sgt. Sean Egan said the Nissan was eventually found by police.

Mr. Holloway is also facing a resisting arrest charge after her he “pushed away” from an arresting cop, Sgt. Egan said.

The man is being held at Riverhead police headquarters for arraignment.

Mr. Holloway had been arrested in June on assault charges after he choked his girlfriend, police said at the time. Those charges are still pending in town court.
