Southampton Police say an armed man busted into a Northampton home yesterday afternoon and demanded cash and drugs before fleeing the scene, and remains at large after police could not track him down despite a K-9 and helicopter search.

Police received a call from a Birch Avenue home around 1:30 p.m. Thursday, saying the man entered the home and despite the threats, ran away without any proceeds.

He was described as a black male, 5-foot-11, and about 230 pounds. The man was reportedly dressed in all black and was wearing a black face mask at the time of the incident.

Southampton P.D. was assisted by New York State Police, a Suffolk County aviation unit and Suffolk County Sheriffs.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call 631-702-2230.
