The Riverhead Town Board is scheduled to have its first public discussion on the 2015 town budget at its work session on Thursday. Supervisor Sean Walter has said the budget will need to cut about 20 positions in order to avoid a 12 percent tax increase, due in part to a roughly $4 million budget deficit.
The board also plans to discuss United Riverhead Terminal’s plans to convert two of the tanks on its Northville petroleum terminal to gasoline tanks, and it also will discuss the EPCAL bike and walking trail.
The meeting starts at 10 a.m and News-Review reporter Tim Gannon will be live blogging. Click below to follow or comment and see the full meeting agenda below that.
