Burrito and queso lovers, rejoice! Moe’s Southwest Grill will open its Riverhead location tomorrow.

After several months of renovations at its new storefront on Route 58, the Mexican-style eatery will open at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 25.

In addition, Moe’s will host a fundraiser for the Riverhead High School Boys Basketball Booster Club from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday with 50 percent of all sales benefiting the club.

“Residents on Long Island have come to love Moe’s and I believe the Riverhead community will also enjoy our fresh, made-to-order food and family-friendly atmosphere,” said franchise partner Guy Constantopolis, who also owns the Moe’s restaurants in Hampton Bays and Rocky Point and various area 7-Eleven stores. “We’re excited to introduce ourselves to a new community by supporting an organization that will truly benefit from this event.”

Earlier this year, Moe’s Southwest Grill announced plans to take over a 3,000-square-foot space that once housed Ground Round.

Moe’s Southwest Grill is an Atlanta-based franchise that was founded in 2000 and now has more than 500 locations. In a press release, the company describes its restaurants as serving “fresh, made-to-order burritos and Southwest fare in a fun and laid-back environment.”

The menu also features kids, vegetarian and low-calorie options, “all served with free chips and salsa,” according to a company statement.

Moe’s in Riverhead will be open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Kids Eat Free Every Tuesday night from 5 p.m. to close. For more information, call 631-740-9152 or visit
