Vincent A. Kobielski

Vincent A. Kobielski of Jamesport died Sept. 29 at Stony Brook University Hospital. He was 71. 

Mr. Kobielski was born Nov. 1, 1942, in Queens to Mary and Vincent Kobielski. He married Barbara Leoniak on Oct. 26, 1963, in Brooklyn.

For 36 years, Mr. Kobielski was a postal worker at the Riverhead post office. He was also a member of St. Isidore Society, St. Isidore Holy Name Society and Riverhead Polish Hall.

Family members said he was a people person who enjoyed gardening and spending time with his grandchildren.

Mr. Kobielski was predeceased by his sister, Celia Klujsza, and is survived by his wife, Barbara, of Jamesport; his daughters: Theresa (Allan) Zilnicki and Diane Jacobson, both of Riverhead; and Halina Kobielski of Medford; his brother, Edward, of Florida; and his grandchildren: Allan Vincent and Ava Zilnicki and Alissa and Veronica Jacobson.

The family will receive visitors Wednesday, Oct. 1, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead. A funeral service will be held Thursday, Oct. 2, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Isidore R.C. Church in Riverhead. Interment will take place at the church cemetery.
