A Brooklyn man was caught with nearly $1,400 worth of merchandise from a Tanger Outlet store — with their security tags still attached — in a bag in his trunk during a traffic stop nearby, according to Riverhead Town court documents.

Randy Davidson, 34, was stopped near Tanger 2 about 6:45 p.m. Sunday, according to the documents. A police officer searched Mr. Davidson’s car and found a lined bag in his trunk “stuffed” with allegedly stolen merchandise, according to charges filed against Mr. Davidson.

The man is accused of stealing $1,396 worth of merchandise from Epic Jeans. He was charged with felony criminal possession of stolen property and criminal possession of an anti-security device — the lined bag.

He also faces a violation for marijuana possession after the police officer found a bag of marijuana “in plain sight” on the rear passenger seat, court papers show. Mr. Davidson was arraigned and held on $10,000 bail, a court clerk said.
