Water shut down on Sound Avenue after service line hit

UPDATE: Water has been turned back on in the area, according to the town.

ORIGINAL: Water service has been shut down on a stretch of Sound Avenue after a crew installing a gas line struck a private service line near the 4-H camp.

According to the town’s water department, water has been shut down from Horton Avenue to Zdunko Lane — right next to R&K Precision Autoworks — since about 8 a.m. after Asplundh struck a service line.

Service should be restored around 10:30 a.m., according to the town.
