A proposed 38,204-square-foot shopping center on the site of the former Rolle Brothers Farm Equipment property on Route 58 received re-approvals last week from the Zoning Board of Appeals for some variances it originally received two years ago.

Richard Israel, one of the property’s owners, said the previous variances expired because the group’s site plan is still before the town Planning Board and that it’s also dealing with the county Department of Public Works on the project.

“I thought I would have been done two years ago,” Mr. Israel told ZBA members during a meeting last week. The project calls for four buildings, but Mr. Israel said he still needs more tenants.

The variances granted by the ZBA allow the gross floor area to be smaller than zoning requires and allow the rear yard depth and the side yard buffer to be smaller than zoning requires. They also allow a proposed sign to be slightly larger than permitted.
