Recap: SWR girls defeat Sayville for Class A county title

No. 1 Sayville (15-0-3) vs. No. 2 SWR (17-0-1)

In a battle of two unbeatens, Shoreham-Wading River faces Sayville this afternoon for the Class A county title in girls soccer. The Wildcats are playing in their first county title game since 2006 when they lost to Islip. Sayville is the defending county champion.

The Wildcats will be vying for their first county title since 1987. The Wildcats’ only other title came in 1985.

The Wildcats enter the championship game off a 2-0 win over Comsewogue and 2-1 win over Harborfields. The Wildcats have given up just three goals all season.

The winner advances to play Nassau champion South Side at 5 p.m. Saturday at Dowling Sports Complex.
