Police arrested an undisclosed number of people in a Wednesday afternoon search warrant that was executed at a house in Riverhead, authorities said.

Members of the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office, New York State police and Riverhead Police Department, along with several K-9 units, assisted Suffolk District Attorney’s office investigators in the 2:30 p.m. search on Lewis Street in the Millbrook Gables neighborhood, said Suffolk County Police Detective Sergeant James Rodding.

“We did have some arrests,” Det. Sgt. Rodding said. “This is an ongoing investigation and more information will be released at a later time.”

Southold Police officers also showed up to the scene about 4:30 p.m., about the same time children were getting dropped off by a bus at neighboring homes.

One suspect was taken away in a Southold squad car and another one in a Riverhead car.

No other details were immediately available.
