Albin Januick

Albin Januick of New Suffolk died Nov. 27, 2014. He was 90. 

Mr. Januick was a retired senior vice-president, comptroller and secretary with Southold Savings Bank.

He was born March 3, 1924, in New Suffolk to Adam and Jessie (née Sledjeski) Januick. From 1944 to 1946, he served honorably with the U.S. Navy.

A graduate of Ryder College, he attended Brown University and Stamford University and received a degree in finance from Brown College.

In the community, Mr. Januick had been president of Southold Rotary Club, a board member of Eastern Long Island Hospital and trustee of Our Lady of Ostrabrama R.C. Church

Predeceased by siblings, William Januick and Albina Wowak, he is survived by nieces and nephews, Helen Ruskowski, Stacia Rempe, Wesley Droskoski, Maryann Heilbrunn and Susan Mott and grandnieces, grandnephews and great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews.

The family will receive visitors Sunday, Nov. 30, from 1 to 5 p.m. at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Southold. The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, Dec. 1, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Ostrabrama R.C. Church in Cutchogue.  Interment, with U.S. Navy honors, will take place at Sacred Heart R.C. Cemetery in Cutchogue.
