A pedestrian suffered a leg injury Sunday in Riverhead after a vehicle struck him and left the scene of the accident, Riverhead Town police said.

The victim was walking on Herricks Lane with two people at around 6 p.m. when the accident occurred, police said.

He was taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center and treated for non-life threatening injuries, police said.

Witnesses said the vehicle was “possibly a white pickup truck” and continued to head south on Herricks Lane after hitting the pedestrian, police said.

No other details about the incident were immediately available.
