Aquebogue News: The Wonder of Christmas premiers tonight

Living Water Church presents its show, “The Wonder of Christmas,” Dec. 11-13 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 14, at 3 p.m. I have attended this event for many years and it’s always been special. This presentation will definitely put you in the Christmas spirit. Tickets — $24 for adults and $19 for ages 62 and over and children under 17 — can be purchased online at lwfgc.org or by calling 722-4969. Call for group and discount pricing. Tickets at the door will be $27, so buy your tickets today. A portion of the proceeds help those in the community who are less fortunate.

Old Steeple Community Church will host Christmas carolers Sunday, Dec. 21, at 2 p.m. For more information, call the church office at 722-3070 or email [email protected].

The Spiritual Renewal Center at First Parish Church in Northville is continuing its food drive. Donations can be dropped off on Sundays from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and Tuesdays from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the vestibule at the Grange Hall building, 5268 Sound Ave., Northville. The coordinators extend their thanks to all who have dropped off food for the local food pantry. Please continue to give as you can.

Congratulations to the Meeting House Chorus — under the direction of George Moravek — for their stunning performance of “A Christmas to Remember” last Saturday at the Jamesport Meeting House. I heard it was well-attended and that everyone enjoyed this special holiday celebration. We look forward to more performances in the very near future. I am certain Richard Wines will keep us posted on the chorus’ upcoming schedule. Thank you!

Our Redeemer Lutheran Church is continuing its Advent midweek special services every Wednesday at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. Take some time out of your busy holiday preparations to renew your spirit and refresh your mind and body with Advent reflection and fellowship. One more service remains — Wednesday, Dec. 17. Call the parish office for details at 722-4000.

I hope you’re enjoying preparing for the holiday season. Hanukkah begins Tuesday, Dec. 16, through Wednesday, Dec. 24. I love that the last day of Hanukkah celebrations coincides with Christmas Eve.

Please remember those who are less fortunate during Advent, Hanukkah and Christmas. Consider donating to food pantries and purchasing gifts for others. This month, Maureen’s Haven has a matching donor. Every dollar spent will be matched for this amazing outreach for the North Fork’s homeless. Visit maureenshaven.org for more information.

There’s an early deadline for my column for the Christmas issue. Please send me all your news by Friday, Dec. 19, for submission.
