Riverhead Justice Court: Riverhead man receives three years probation

There were 254 cases on the docket in Riverhead Town Justice Allen Smith’s court, Dec. 1-3. The following are among those adjudicated: 

• Melvin Gonzalez-Ortiz, 32, of Riverhead pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated and was sentenced to three years’ probation and fined $1,200.

• Richard Frank, 66, of Riverhead pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated and was fined $1,400.

• Hector Jimenez, 51, of Cutchogue pleaded guilty to criminal possession of a controlled substance and was fined $500.

• Tashuann Johnson, 19, of Bellport pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct, downgraded from a charge of criminal possession of a controlled substance, and was sentenced to time served in jail. Other charges will be dismissed if Mr. Johnson does not get arrested in the next six months.

• Alfonso Prado, 34, of East Hampton pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct, downgraded from a charge of forgery, and was fined $300.

• Charges including operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs, criminal possession of a controlled substance, driving without a license, driving with a suspended registration, operating a vehicle without insurance and operating an uninspected vehicle against Justin Lombardi, 37, of Wading River were dismissed in town court as the charges were moved to county court.

• Peter McGee, 50, of Smithtown pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated and was fined $1,060.

• Charges of leaving a motor vehicle accident with property damage against Glenden Sullivan, 22, of Jamesport will be dismissed, provided Mr. Sullivan does not get arrested in the next six months.

• Cynthia Swartz, 51, of Riverhead pleaded guilty to petit larceny and was fined $500.
