National Weather Service: Rain to end by Christmas morning

There’s no chance of a white Christmas this year, according to the National Weather Service in Upton.

Meteorologist David Stark said consistent rain is predicted for Tuesday and Wednesday, Christmas Eve, with the temperatures reaching between 40 to 50 degrees.

The rain is expected to stop by sunrise on Thursday, Christmas Day, which Mr. Stark said should be a warm, breezy and sunny day with winds around 35 mph, temperatures in the low 50s and sunshine in the afternoon.

The record high temperature for Christmas Eve was set in 1996 at 58 degrees and Christmas Day’s high temperature record was set in 1964 at 61 degrees, he said.
