Karol W. Ladka

Former Riverhead resident Karol W. Ladka of Carlisle, Pa, died Dec. 24, 2014 at Sarah Todd Memorial Home in Carlisle. He was 82. 

Karol was born in Queens, Dec. 11, 1932, to Stanley and Victoria (Sieminski) Ladka.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He retired as a truck driver for United Parcel Service in New York. He was a former member of St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church in Riverhead.

Karol was an avid Notre Dame and New York Yankees fan. He loved to read all types of newspapers; and also enjoyed traveling, hiking and camping. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis J. (née Smith) Ladka; three sons, Ronald J. (Donna) Ladka of White River Junction, Vt., Robert C. (Suzanne) Ladka of Jamestown, N.C. and Richard F. (Jacqueline) Ladka of Dodge City, Kansas; one sister, Florence Kowalzick of Riverhead; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

The family will receive visitors Tuesday, Jan. 6, from 9:30-10 a.m. at Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. in Carlisle. Graveside services with full military honors will be held Tuesday, Jan. 6, at 11 a.m. at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville, Pa
