Riverhead PBA honors its 2014 ‘Cop of the Year’
The Riverhead Police Benevolent Association held its installation dinner at the Suffolk Theatre in Riverhead Saturday night.
Officer Daniel Hogan was honored with the Cop of the Year award and was heralded for his bravery and commitment to duty. In June 2014, he was called to an apartment complex for an incident and while there discovered handguns and narcotics.
Assigned to downtown Riverhead, Officer Hogan has made numerous arrests for drug possession and quality of life offenses. He was heralded as being an active and proactive officer in the Riverhead police force.
Retiring police officers Emil Breitenbach, Tim Hubbard, and Chris Parkin were also honored for their service to the department.
