Estelle K. Grodski

Estelle “Tootsie” K. Grodski of Riverhead died Jan. 19 at the Riverhead Care Center. She was 84. 

She was born March 29, 1930, in New York City to William and Stella (Harris) Kellis and graduated from Southampton High School in 1948.

Ms. Grodski worked as a legal secretary for Fowler & Kendrick law firm in Riverhead. Family members said she enjoyed reading, Bingo, football and watching NASCAR.

Predeceased by her husband, Vincent, in 1992, she is survived by her son, Richard, of Riverhead; her daughter, Brenda (Chester) Kowalski, also of Riverhead; three grandchildren, Anthony White Jr., Reid Grodski and Christina Grodski; and a great-grandchild, Jordyn DeFriest.

The family will receive visitors today, Thursday, Jan. 22, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Jan. 23, at the funeral home. Interment will take place at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church Cemetery in Riverhead.
