Police offer $5K award for arrest of suspected Manorville rapist

Police are asking for the public’s help to locate a man accused of forcibly raping an 11-year-old girl in Manorville.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers, Suffolk County Police Special Victims detectives and the United States Marshal Service are searching for Carlos Zhunio, 20.

According to police, Mr. Zhunio raped an 11-year-old girl he knew at a Manorville home on June 16, 2013. He is wanted on an arrest warrant for first-degree rape, second-degree rape and endangering the welfare of a child.

Mr. Zhunio is believed to be staying either in Manorville or Brooklyn, police said.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
