LONG ISLAND ELITE TRACK INVITATIONAL

Jacob Robinson walked out of St. Anthony’s High School with a couple of well-earned plaques in his hand on Sunday afternoon. The Riverhead High School senior was involved in a pair of fourth-place finishes in the Long Island Elite Track Invitational.

Robinson, wearing his trademark white headband, clocked a time of 36.31 seconds in the 300-meter dash. The only faster times among the 31 competitors were turned in by Luke Germanakos of Lynbrook (35.17), Kyle Watkins of Longwood (35.75) and Kory Fitzgerald of Half Hollow Hills West (36.10). They are all seniors. Bishop McGann-Mercy junior Dale Kelly came in sixth in 36.47.

Robinson also ran the anchor leg for Riverhead’s 4×200-meter relay team, which took fourth in 1:34.50. Andrew Smith, Chyuvaughn Cameron and Marcus Reid handled the first three legs.

Holy Trinity (1:31.74) was first, followed by Uniondale (1:32.75) and Amityville (1:33.21).

Shoreham-Wading River senior Matt Gladysz completed the 1,000 in 2:40.13, bringing him sixth place.

In the 600, Riverhead junior Luke Coulter (1:27.64) and McGann-Mercy junior Alex Frabizio (1:28.29) were eighth and ninth, respectively.
