Cops: Riverhead man struck woman with a belt

A 25-year-old Riverhead man allegedly struck a woman with a belt several times around midnight Friday, Riverhead Town police said. 

Jesus Flores was arrested and charged second-degree assault after the attack on a 24-year-old woman, police said.

Police were called to a Wilson Avenue home at 12:05 a.m. Saturday. Police arrested Mr. Flores and transported him to police headquarters to be held for a morning arraignment.
