John S. Trimore of Calverton died March 30 at Riverhead Care Center. He was 95.
Mr. Trimore was born Jan. 26, 1920, in Brooklyn to Anthony and Margaret Trimore. He served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1946.
He was vice-president of sales and marketing for Atlantic Container Line in New York City.
Mr. Trimore served as an usher during Mass at St. John the Evangist R.C. Church parish in Riverhead.
Family members said he enjoyed golf, gardening, walking and bowling.
Mr. Trimore is survived by his wife, Nellie (née Battaglia), of Calverton; his daughter, Janice Flood of Flanders and two grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors Wednesday, April 1, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at McLaughin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, April 2, at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Calverton National Cemetery.
