Musical revue auditions set for ‘Hooray for Hollywood’

Riverhead Faculty and Community Theatre will hold an open cast call for “Hooray for Hollywood: 80 Years of Oscar Winners,” a musical revue, at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, at the Pulaski Street School auditorium in Riverhead.

Performers should prepare 32 bars of a standard or show tune (not including “Let It Go”) — no pop or rock. A complete list of Oscar-winning songs can be found online, but it is not necessary to audition with one of them. (The show will concentrate heavily on songs written before 1980.) Bring sheet music; an accompanist will be provided.

There will be one performance, at 8 p.m. Saturday, June 6, at Vail-Leavitt Music Hall in Riverhead. Rehearsals will be held Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 6:30 to 9 p.m., at Pulaski Street, beginning April 28. Mandatory rehearsals are set for June 1 to 4.
